Privacy Policy & Terms of Service

Project Timeline (project-timeline.com) is a free web application for building and sharing project timelines. This page explains what data we handle and the terms under which the service is offered. If you have any questions, contact us at info@project-timeline.com.

Privacy Policy

Information we collect

Account information. When you sign in, we store your email address. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your email address and basic profile with us — we never receive or store your Google password.
Your content. The project timelines you choose to save — task names, dates, categories, resources, notes and similar — are stored so you can access them across devices.
Technical data. Minimal: a sign-in session token kept in your browser, and standard security/operational logs generated by our infrastructure providers.
Aggregate traffic statistics. Our host, Netlify, counts page views, referrers and countries from its own server logs. This happens on the server: it sets no cookies, runs no script in your browser, and cannot identify you.

We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking, and we do not sell your personal data.

How we use your information

To authenticate you and keep you signed in.
To save, sync and display your projects back to you.
To send account-related email, such as one-time sign-in links. These emails are delivered through our email provider (Resend).

Where your data is stored

Accounts and project data are stored securely with our database and authentication provider (Supabase) on managed cloud infrastructure. Access is restricted by row-level security so that only you can read and edit your own projects.

Cookies & local storage

We use your browser's local storage to keep your work and your sign-in session on your device. One small cookie remembers whether to show prices in euros or dollars. We do not use advertising, analytics or cross-site tracking cookies.

Your rights

Access & export. You can view your data in the app at any time and export any project as a JSON or CSV file.
Correction & deletion. You can edit or delete individual projects in the app. To delete your entire account and all associated data, open the Account menu (top-right when signed in) and choose Delete account & all data — this permanently removes your account, projects, and history immediately.
If you are in the UK/EU, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Data retention

We keep your projects until you delete them, or until you delete your account using the Delete account option in the app.

Children

Project Timeline is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here along with a revised effective date.

Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using Project Timeline, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. The service

Project Timeline is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We may add, change, or discontinue features at any time.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping access to your sign-in secure and for activity that occurs under your account. You agree not to misuse the service — including any unlawful use, attempts to disrupt or breach its security, or placing an excessive automated load on it.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the timelines and content you create. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store your content and display it back to you in order to operate the service. You are responsible for the content you create and share.

5. Availability & backups

We aim to keep the service running but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Please keep your own backups of important work using the in-app export.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Project Timeline and its developer are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the service.

7. Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your data at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
